The Abbotsford Police Department says a man is dead after a reported shooting on Monday.

Once officers arrived at the scene, inside a unit at an apartment complex on Cardinal Avenue near Mount Lehman Road, at around 4 p.m., they found the deceased man.

Another man, the alleged suspect, was located at the scene soon after and remains in custody.

“Our officers at the front lines were quick to respond at the scene, which ultimately led to the successful arrest of the individual in about eight minutes after the call of service,” said Abby Police Media Relations Officer Sgt. Paul Walker.
