The Vancouver Police Department says it has made one arrest after a stabbing in the city’s Downtown Eastside on Tuesday.

According to police, the stabbing left one person critically injured, who is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

“BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) received a call at 2 p.m. regarding a police incident at Main Street and Cordova Street in Vancouver,” said Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites.

BC EHS responded with one ambulance and one paramedic specialist.
