Eight hottest parts of UK listed as temperature heads towards 34C
Parts of the UK are forecast to reach highs of 34C during the fourth heatwave of the summer. Southern areas including Berkshire, Oxfordshire and outskirts of London such as Heathrow may reach 34C on Tuesday.
Wednesday could bring 33C to 34C heat to eastern England including Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and East Anglia, and Thursday may see 29C to 30C in London and East Anglia. Monday’s highest temperature was 31.9C at Heathrow.
Seasonal averages are generally between 18C and 22C in Britain, and go up to 23C for London. Met Office meteorologist Greg Dewhurst said on Monday that the UK is on day two of the heatwave and there is “overall a very hot, very warm week to come”.
