KUNIA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Firefighters are battling a brush fire in Kunia Monday.

It was first reported just before 6:30 p.m. near Kunia and Plantation roads.

Kunia Road is closed in all directions from Kunia Drive to Anonui Street due to hazardous conditions.

According to the Honolulu Fire Department, the fire is on both sides of the road.

The public is asked to avoid the area.

Fire officials said no evacuations were necessary.
