Fans of “Shrek” will have to wait a bit longer for the latest installment.

“Shrek 5,” originally scheduled to open in December 2026, has been moved back six months and now is scheduled to hit cinemas on June 30, 2027, according to The Hollywood Reporter . It will be the first “Shrek” film since “Shrek Forever After” in 2010.

IMDB.com shows Mike Myers returning to the main role, with Cameron Diaz again portraying Princess Fiona and Eddie Murphy voicing Donkey. Zendaya currently is cast as the voice of Felicia, Shrek and Fiona’s daughter.

Variety reports this is the second time the release of “Shrek 5″ has been delayed. It originally was scheduled for July 2026. No reason has been given for the delays.
