CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Christopher Smitherman, Cincinnati’s former vice mayor, confirms he is trying to return to City Council as soon as this fall and hopes to one day serve as mayor.
“The door is open for me to run for mayor in the future,” he tells FOX19 NOW. “For now, I just want to get back on City Council, but I would love to run for mayor of my home city someday.”
Smitherman is running as an Independent and says he was motivated to return to public office out of frustration with what he claims is a “lack of leadership on city council.”
