ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - It’s been 48 hours since a gunman opened fire in front of the CDC campus on Clifton Road, killing Dekalb County Police Officer David Rose.
Even though the threat is over, anxiety still lingers for people who work and live in the Emory Point community across the street.
“Everybody still feels a little tense because you never expect stuff to happen to you in your own area,” said Nial Benton, the assistant manager of The General Muir.
The restaurant is a few shops down from the CVS where officers found the suspect, identified as Patrick Joseph White, dead on the second floor.
Officer Rose was responding to the active shooter threat when he was shot and killed.
Benton remembers hearing gunshots and helping people who were outside take shelter inside the
