MANCHESTER, N.H. —

The stretch of hot and humid weather continues on Tuesday during what is shaping up to be the state's fourth heat wave of the year.

A heat advisory is in effect through Tuesday evening for parts of Strafford, Rockingham and Hillsborough counties.

Concord hit 97 degrees Monday, giving the city two straight days above 90. It's likely that Concord will see 90 again on Tuesday, making it the fourth official heat wave of the year.

Entering Tuesday, the capital city has seen 21 days at or above 90 degrees so far this year. The total is two more than all of last year.

The record for most 90-degree days in Concord in a year is 30, set in 1955. Other peak years include 1870 and 1978 with 27 days, and 2010 and 2022 with 26 days.
