And if you thought the Manchester School District’s policy strictly limiting student use of cellphones in city schools last school year was tough, skim what’s in store this fall.

In the summer of 2024, the Manchester school board approved a policy for the 2024-2025 school year prohibiting students in preschool through eighth grade from using personal electronic devices during the school day unless specifically authorized by a school official.

High school students could only use them during non-instructional time, such as lunch. Using them in bathrooms or locker rooms was off-limits.
