An elementary school teacher in Raymond, a high school math teacher in Gilford and a social studies teacher in Andover have been named finalists for the New Hampshire Teacher of the Year, state education officials announced Tuesday.
The finalists are Justine Dube of Raymond, Jennifer McDonald of Gilford and Megan Philbrook of Salisbury, respectively.
For the next step in the process, selection committee members will schedule visits to observe each of the finalists in their classrooms, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Department of Education.
Dube teaches first grade at Lamprey River Elementary School in Raymond and has been teaching for 10 years.
“To create a space where students feel comfortable and confident to do their best on academic activities, I always try to o
