MONTICELLO, Iowa (KCRG) - A rescue dog is getting a new life at the Monticello Police Department.

Bozi is the newest, and furriest face at the Monticello Police Department. He’s getting ready to train to be a K9 officer, and already beloved by the officers.

“He’s continued to improve and shown us that he has some really good potential to be a good police canine for us,” says Police Chief Britt Smith. “We’re all excited for the next phase.”

But Bozi came very close to not being here at all. The Animal Welfare Friends shelter in Monticello rescued him in April from a kill-shelter in Georgia.
