HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On this date in 1968, West Virginia Governor Wally Barron went on federal trial for bribery.
He stool trial along with five other men accused of wrongdoing in connection with state government contract kickbacks.
The trial played out in Charleston, where he was acquitted.
However, later he and his wife were charged with bribing the jury foreman and he was convicted of that and spent four years in prison.
