HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Tuesday morning started out with strong fog, especially across western Nebraska. After clouds sealing moisture at the surface and cooling temperatures overnight, we hit the dew point quickly, especially in areas with cooler temperatures. When the temperature is within about 5ºF of the dew point, that is when we start to see fog (or clouds) appear.

With the fog, we’ll start to see it rise after around 8:00 a.m. From there, we’ll see clouds in our atmosphere as the sun continues heating and eventually burns them off by midday. This will allow free heating of our atmosphere in the afternoon which means we’ll see highs in the mid 80s. As we warm today, we’ll see moisture exit the atmosphere.
