Former First Daughter Ashley Biden Files For Divorce From Husband In Philadelphia: Report

Former first daughter Ashley Biden has filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years, Dr. Howard Krein, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Biden, daughter of former President Joe Biden, filed paperwork in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on Monday, Aug. 11, one of her representatives confirmed to the outlet.

Just two months earlier, on June 2, she posted a photo album to Instagram with the caption: “May 2025. Heartbroken yet HOPEFUL. MAY I have the courage to handle all that life throws at me (us). So very grateful for all the love + support 💕♥️💕 life is tough my darling, but so are YOU. 💪🏽🙏.”

Krein, a Cherry Hill, NJ native, serves as Chief Medical Officer at StartUp Health and is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University. He is also co-director of Jefferson’s Facial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Center and CMO at OrganizedWisdom Health.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Krein holds both an M.D. and a Ph.D., with extensive training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He earned his master’s degree in Neuroscience/Cell and Developmental Biology from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
