Scottie Scheffler will have another temporary caddie on the bag this week.
Scheffler, the World No. 1 and leader of the FedEx Cup with two weeks left in the season, was forced to make a late change on Sunday at the St. Jude Championship after usual bagman Ted Scott had to leave Memphis due to a personal matter. Filling in for Scott was Brad Payne, the tour’s chaplain and Scheffler’s personal friend, perhaps best known for looping for Scheffler the day after his arrest at last year’s PGA Championship. Scheffler ultimately finished T-3 last week, one shot out of a playoff at the tour’s first postseason event.
