Three puppies are safe and receiving care after a volunteer with Remo’s Rescue discovered them inside a tipped-over trash bin along a rural road in Carthage.

MacKenzie Spears-Moore, who volunteers for Remo’s Rescue, says she typically gets calls, texts, or surprise drop-offs of dogs in need — sometimes left at the clinic door, tossed over the fence, or even tied to a mailbox with notes asking for help. But the discovery of these three puppies was a moment she describes as feeling like “a God moment.”

Driving home later than usual one evening, Spears-Moore noticed a trash bin oddly placed in the driveway of an abandoned house, partially in the road.

“I wasn’t planning on stopping,” she recalled. “But as I passed, the bin literally tipped over, and a puppy ran out of it.”
