(WKBN) - The Ohio Supreme Court ruled that a man's attempt to drum up a relationship with a woman he went to school with decades before, by commenting on her social media posts and coming to her home, was stalking.

The case surrounds a 2022 case out of West Carrollton involving Dorrian Crawl, a man who prosecutors say stalked a woman he went to school with but did not know personally or even had a conversation with.

Crawl first saw a post by the victim, named A.P. in court records, on Instagram celebrating her 29th birthday. Crawl responded to the post by sending a sad emoji and writing: "Happy Birthday, baby girl. I love you. Hope we can see each other sometime soon.”
