Local Sylvan Lake athlete Coryn Tardif will be representing Alberta at the Canada Summer Games in St. John's, N.L., in golf.

Tardif will be travelling to St. John's on Aug. 16 after competing in the U19 Canadian Junior Girls Championships in Quebec this week, to compete in the Canada Games from August 19 to 22.

"Another girl on the Summer Games Team as well as the Alberta Golf Coordinator, and I will fly from Montreal to St. Johns," Tardif said.

Based on her rankings with Alberta Golf, Tardiff got the call to compete.

"How Alberta Golf decides is that they do it based on ranking. So it depends on how we did in tournaments last year and at the start of the season. I was high enough on the Alberta ranking because last summer in the U17 championship I finished in third place, and at the A
