ORANGEBURG — A man who fled South Carolina with his 5-year-old daughter after he killed the child's mother will spend 30 years in prison, a judge determined Aug. 11.
Antar Antonio Jeter pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in front of 1st Circuit Judge Diane Goodstein almost three years after he killed Crystal Jumper, 46.
Jeter was originally charged with murder. Goodstein’s 30-year sentence is the maximum penalty for voluntary manslaughter under state law.
"The family of Crystal Jumper is relieved today that Antar Jeter, the father of her child, Aspen, pleaded guilty today for his role in Crystal's tragic murder,” said Justin Bamberg, attorney for Jumper’s family.
