A former Greenwood and Southport schools teacher was sentenced on multiple child sex crime charges Tuesday.

Shane E. Williams, 48, of Greenwood, was sentenced Monday to 20 years for two counts of child molestation, both Level 4 felonies; child solicitation, a Level 5 Felony, and dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a Level 6 Felony.

Johnson Superior Court 3 Judge Doug Cummins awarded this sentence following a six-day trial by a Johnson County jury that took place in June. The jury found him guilty of all counts filed by the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office.

As part of the sentence, Williams will be required to register as a sex offender and participate in a sex offender evaluation while in prison.
