Tennis legend Monica Seles shared that she has been diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease with symptoms she first noticed while doing what she loves the most — playing tennis.

Seles, 51, is publicly sharing her experience with the disease, known as MG, which causes muscle weakness, double vision and other physical issues, according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke .

"I would be playing with some kids or family members, and I would miss a ball. I was like, ‘Yeah, I see two balls.’ These are obviously symptoms that you can’t ignore,” Seles told The Associated Press . “And, for me, this is when this journey started.
