The Wyoming Highway Patrol says speed may be to blame for a single-vehicle rollover crash in southwest Wyoming's Uinta County that left a young driver dead.

The crash happened sometime before 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at milepost 7.7 on Wyoming 89 north of Evanston.

According to a fatality crash summary , 24-year-old Arizona resident Aylani Ortega was headed north at a high rate of speed when her Ford F-350 went off the highway, where it tripped and flipped.

Sadly, Ortega, who was not wearing her seat belt, did not survive the crash.

Speed a Factor in 43% of This Year's Fatal Crashes

According to fatal crash statistics from the Patrol, speed has been a contributing factor in 29 of this year's 68 fatal crashes.
