This is an unusual review coming from a surprising source. A few weeks ago, in this column, I recommended an LGBTQ+-themed series for your summer viewing. The idea was to highlight something we could truly relate to. Enough with the endless straight romantic comedies — what about a queer romance, comedy or drama? They’re out there in abundance. Just check Netflix, Amazon or even YouTube.

My friend Perry, who happens to be president of the Gay Liberation Front Foundation, loved that column. He’s long believed in supporting our community’s culture and stories, and whenever he’s in the mood for a film, he tries to choose one that reflects us. As he put it: “Sure, I can watch Dick and Jane fall in love, but when it’s George and Hank? Now that’s something that hits home.”
