CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Between the end of the Texas A&M 2024 football season and the day in late July that he signed his NFL rookie contract, Shemar Stewart was caught up in the business side of football.
Draft prep. Draft interviews. Combine training. And finally, the rookie contract negotiations that took up the most time in this particular case.
The Bengals and Stewart were finally able to agree to a deal on July 26. For the last two weeks, he has actually just been able to play football again.
“A job isn’t a job until you stop having fun,” Stewart said. “As long as you have fun, it’s not a job. This is just something I love to do.”
Now that the contract drama is behind him, Stewart is able to speak with a smile about some topics that are more exciting to him.
