CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The day before Hunter Greene returned from a Grade 1 groin strain that forced him to miss 12 starts, he acknowledged the elephant in the room.
As Greene spoke about the “love” he felt from teammates in the clubhouse this week, Greene acknowledged, “It could have been a different dynamic.”
The process that Greene has been going through for the last four months has been difficult to follow. He landed on the IL in early May after tweaking his groin, returned two weeks later, made three starts and then exited another game due to groin tightness. A clean follow-up MRI in early June showed that there was no new injury, but he went to team’s spring training facility to reset, rehab and go through a more in-depth recovery process.
