Before the Magic travel across the pond for a pair of regular season games in Europe against the Grizzlies during Orlando ‘s 37th year of basketball, Jamahl Mosley ‘s squad will meet a familiar face on a Caribbean island for a preseason contest.
The Magic will face the Heat on Oct. 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the clubs announced Tuesday afternoon at a news conference in South Florida.
While the matchup serves as the sixth exhibition for Miami in Puerto Rico, it’ll mark the first time the Magic will play there.
“We are incredibly excited to be down on the island and we look at Puerto Rico as a continuation of our market,” Magic managing director Ryan DeVos said. “We’ve got a fantastic Puerto Rican fanbase in Central Florida. It’s a great opportunity and we’re very appreciative.”
