The Chicago Cubs will host a public tribute to Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg in conjunction with his funeral this month.

According to the team, the tribute to Sandberg, who passed away July 28 at the age of 65, will take place on Gallagher Way, located next door to Wrigley Field, on Friday, Aug. 22.

The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run through noon, with Sandberg’s funeral being shown on the video board in Gallagher Way, the team said in a statement.

“The Cubs organization is grateful for the continued support of Cubs fans and their expression of compassion during this difficult time,” said Cubs President of Business Operations Crane Kenney. “Beyond his family, Ryno’s great loves were spending time with teammates and other Cubs players and interacting with Cubs fans.
