WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Two people, including a girl, were taken to the hospital Tuesday after they were stabbed in Northeast D.C.

Details remain limited; however, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) told DC News Now that the stabbing happened around 9:12 a.m. in the 1400 block of Montana Ave.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with stab wounds, unconscious and not breathing. Medics took her to the hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently unknown.

A girl, whose age has not been released, was also located with stab wounds. According to D.C. police, she was in and out of consciousness, but breathing.

A suspect was taken into custody in connection with the incident. It is not clear if any charges were filed.
