Latin Grammy-nominated reggaeton star Jhayco was arrested on drug charges early Tuesday morning in Miami, according to an arrest report viewed by Variety .
The Puerto Rican singer, whose real name is Jesús Manuel Nieves Cortés, has been widely recognized for hit collaborations with J Balvin, Bad Bunny (“Dákiti,” “Tarot,” “No Me Conoce” and more) and Kali Uchis, among several others. Up until 2019, he performed under the stage name Jhay Cortez.
The report reveals charges for possession of cocaine and marijuana under Cortés’ name, alongside a photo of his mug shot. He was arrested and booked at around 4:24 a.m. at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.
