School leaders across Pennsylvania are bracing for a possible lack of state funding during the start of school due to a nearly seven-week state budget impasse.
During a call Tuesday by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, district leaders statewide and from Western Pennsylvania detailed their concerns and possible next steps if state funding does not come through as state leaders continue debating several pieces of the budget despite passing the June 30 deadline.
Tuesday is also the deadline for districts to submit required information to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for districts to receive August state payments.
But given the impasse, those payments will likely be missed.
