Crossett Elementary School evacuated as first responders work to put out forest fire

CROSSETT, Ark. (KNOE) - Multiple agencies are responding to a forest fire off of Camp Road in Crossett, Arkansas.

The Crossett Fire Department said they are responding to the fire alongside Frost Prairie Volunteer Fire Department, West Crossett Volunteer Fire Department, North Crossett Volunteer Fire Department, Forestry Service and Hamburg Fire Department.

The CFD asked everyone to avoid Camp Road and surrounding access points to allow emergency responders to work safely and efficiently.

The Crossett School District posted on Facebook, writing that all Crossett Elementary students were evacuated to Crossett High School “out of an abundance of caution.”
