Ford has issued a safety recall for over 103,000 vehicles because of issues with bolts in the left and right rear axles.
Around 103,174 vehicles are affected by the recall, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration .
Documents filed with the highway safety agency stated that the recall is because the rear axle hub bolt could wear down and break.
This could lead to a rollaway of a parked car or a loss of power while driving, which increases the risk of a crash, according to the recall documents.
The recall affects 2023, 2024, and 2025 model years of Ford’s popular F150 pickup truck.
Specifically, the recall covers truck models with the Trailer Tow Max Duty package, 9.75-inch heavy duty axle and 3/4 float axle design, according to recall documents .
