The Yankees will look to continue shaking off their cold streak when they host the Twins for Game 2 on Tuesday. After dropping multiple series since mid-June and posting one of the worst records in the AL, New York finally showed signs of life in Game 1. Will Warren set the tone on the mound, delivering 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball, while the bats came alive. Cody Bellinger , Ben Rice, Giancarlo Stanton , and Jazz Chisholm Jr. all went deep, giving the home team a much-needed 6-2 win.
At 63-56, the Yankees sit third in the AL East, six games behind the division leader and holding on to the final Wild Card spot by the barest of margins. The Twins, meanwhile, are 56-62 and in fourth place in the AL Central, still battling to stay in the hunt for a Wild Card spot.
