Gang Green is down a quarterback for the short term.
Jets backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor will miss the rest of the preseason after recently having a surgical procedure done on his knee.
Taylor missed practice last week because of the injury.
Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Taylor’s procedure was “a minor scope,” but did not say if he will be ready for the Jets’ season opener against the Steelers on Sept. 7.
“We’ll see exactly where he is in the next couple of weeks,” Glenn said after Tuesday’s practice. “I don’t think he will be playing in the preseason, but hopefully he will be ready for Week 1.”
Taylor, 36, is entering his second season as the Jets’ backup quarterback after signing with the team during the 2024 offseason. He played in just two games last season, with Aaron Rodgers mo
