Monica Seles is serving up an update on her health.

The retired tennis star revealed that she was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gavis—an autoimmune condition that causes muscle weakness and double vision, per the Mayo Clinic —three years ago, and explained how the incurable disease has affected her body.

“I would be playing with some kids or family members, and I would miss a ball,” Seles, 51, told the Associated Press in an interview published Aug. 12. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I see two balls.’ These are obviously symptoms that you can’t ignore. And, for me, this is when this journey started.”
