The Soldier-Butler timber sale is back, and like a bad dream, it’s causing many sleepless nights for conservationists and residents of the Nine Mile Valley. Thanks to the Trump administration declaring war on the natural environment, in this case recovering wildlife species and wildlands, the Forest Service reissued the sale despite it being under a federal court injunction.

This administration and its now gutted Forest Service is intent on undoing over two decades of restoration efforts following decades of intensive logging and roadbuilding. This sale is being frontloaded as part of the policy to drastically increase logging on all of our national forests.
