OGDENSBURG, New York (WWNY) - Upgrades are coming to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center now that it’s getting $18.7 million from the state.

“The campus has been around since 1885. Obviously, medicine changes, technology changes, and decisions that may have seemed like the right decision - and were the right decision at the time - set us on a trajectory now where we have infrastructure opportunities to better consolidate our patient flow and thus enhance patient experience, patient care,” said Chief Operating Officer Brandon Bowline.

That consolidation includes relocating maternity, acute and critical care, and lab services onto one floor, and consolidating surgical services from three floors to two, all in an effort to streamline and modernize hospital operations.
