A Montrose man has been cited with multiple counts alleging animal cruelty, over the condition of horses on his property, the Montrose County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

A number of horses were seized at a property at 58.75 Road property. There were also reports of dead horses on the property.

Scott Flores, 61, was issued a misdemeanor summons for 84 counts of cruelty.

According to the MCSO press release, a report came in on May 31 of a dead horse on Flores' 58.75 Road property. Then a second report of a dead horse on that property was reported on June 12.

At that time, an MCSO animal control officer spoke with Flores and photographed several horses on the property.
