SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser was in Shreveport Tuesday (Aug. 12) at the North Shreveport Business Association’s monthly luncheon.
One of the topics he discussed was the increasingly popular sport of pickleball.
Nungesser says the cost of the $10 million pickle ball facility will benefit tourism and the City of Shreveport. He added that tourism would cover the cost of the facility, especially with the number of available hotels in the Shreveport area.
“I met with the local tourism folks. They did a study, and if they build it [pickleball courts] to the quality of the USA Pickleball League and this league, they will get those tournaments because of the low cost of hotels here,” Nungesser said.
