LODI, Cal. (KOLN) — A Lincoln woman died after getting trapped in a central California donation box, police say.

According to CBS13 Sacramento, 44-year-old Diana Borysenko, of Lincoln, died Aug. 5 following a police response in Lodi, California.

Officers were called to the area of Elm Street and Ham Lane around 6:10 p.m.

A woman, later identified as Borysenko, was partially trapped in a donation box. Lt. Eric Shaw thinks she reached deeply into the box with her left arm when she became trapped.

The structure of the box’s door caused it to press against Borysenko’s body harder the further she reached, asphyxiating her, according to Lt. Shaw.

Authorities were able to open the box and pull her from the donation box. Crews began life-saving measures on Borysenko before transporting her to
