LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police arrested a man early Wednesday morning that they believe is connected in an overnight robbery.

Around 12:30a.m., an officer was waved down by a pedestrian who reported he was robbed. The victim said he was in the area of North 27th and W streets when he was approached by an unknown man who demanded the victim’s possessions.

The victim said he believed the man was holding something in his hand and feared for his safety. Police said the suspect took several personal items from the victim and left the area.

At about 1:30a.m., in the area of North 27th and Holdrege streets, officers located the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Zavion Zaire Jermaine Simmons, and took him into custody.

Simmons was cited and lodged for robbery.
