LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - It’s a big mission — making Nebraska a state where no human is ever for sale.

After a major human trafficking bust in the Omaha area on Tuesday, five people are behind bars and 27 survivors, some of them children, are working to rebuild their lives. Those five will have their day in court, but what about the 27 victims?

For the Lincoln-based organization “I’ve Got A Name,” survivors are the focus.

“To unwrap the trauma that they’ve gone through in their life, and especially being trafficked, takes a lot of energy. It takes a lot of trust. There’s a lot of guilt, a lot of shame. All of these emotions going around this individual,” said Paul Yates, executive director of “I’ve Got A Name.”
