LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — A statewide group tasked with assessing domestic violence statistics in the state released their annual report , showing the number of DV cases and a look at data-driven connections in an effort to make recommendations to the state.
The Nebraska Domestic Abuse Death Review Team was born out of LB 1009.
Since 2022, they’ve worked to analyze deaths and the causes and contributing factors in the hope of providing recommendations to prevent future domestic abuse fatalities.
This year’s report identified 72 domestic abuse deaths between July 21, 2022, and July 1, 2025.
Sixty-nine-point-six percent of deaths were by homicide, with another 23.2% by murder-suicide or murders-suicide. The same report showed seven children were killed as a result of domestic abuse homici
