LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Seven young people were welcomed into the Good Life, Great Journey scholarship program on Friday, setting them up for a future career through the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

At NDOT headquarters, officials were joined by Gov. Jim Pillen where recipients were individually recognized and given their scholarship award to sign.

The program is for students with passions in science, technology, engineering and math, or trades, and is paid for with federal funds.

Students must be enrolled at an approved technical college in the state, and the scholarship will then cover up to 100% of their tuition, fees, books, tools, housing assistance and travel. Students also get signed up for a paid internship with NDOT.
