LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A fire in central Lincoln on Wednesday night left a home temporarily uninhabitable.

About 6:30 p.m., Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to a home near 38th and L streets, as seen in a video on the NOW Local News App.

LFR said a woman was in her kitchen when she noticed a fire that appeared to be coming from her air fryer.

The fire spread into the cupboards, according to Battalion Chief Bob Watton, and there is smoke damage throughout the house.

The woman and her pets were able to get out safely, but LFR said because of the smoke damage, they won’t be staying in the home for a couple days.

Watton estimated that the fire caused $10,000 to $15,000 in damage.
