GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - At the Hall County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, the representatives learned about sex trafficking and sextortion and how it impacts the area they represent.
Four people came to talk about the issue, including Cayla Larkins, an undercover investigator for the Grand Island Police Department.
Larkins said that in 2024 the Grand Island Police Department conducted 12 “meet-ups,” where the department meets with a suspect and places them in custody.
One of the reasons why she does this job is because she wants to get people off the streets who could be extorting children.
“These children being contacted on social media,” Larkins said. “It’s why I’m so passionate about why I do what I do, and being out there and having a presence on social media. Because our ch
