On Tuesday morning, readers saw this chilling headline at the top of the tulsaworld.com home page: OU looking into John Mateer betting allegations; QB denies gambling.
From the Tulsa World’s Mason Young, there was this report: Following the emergence of online transactions believed to be Mateer’s, he has denied to OU officials that he ever participated in sports gambling, according to SoonerScoop and ESPN. The NCAA prohibits participating students from engaging in any form of sports betting or providing information to others who do.
