Dozens of train cars jackknifed and collided with each other in a derailment and fire Tuesday afternoon near Gordon.

The Palo Pinto County ESD told NBC 5 that rescue crews were called to the Coalville Road Bridge at about 2 p.m. after about 30 railcars left the tracks about two miles east of Gordon.

Among the debris, more than a dozen crumpled freight and tanker cars were seen stacked on top of each other.

No injuries have been reported and all personnel are accounted for, officials said.

No evacuations were ordered, but in a post on X, the Palo Pinto County ESD asked people to stay away from the derailment near Coalville Road as first responders manage a “potentially hazardous situation.”
