BROOKLYN — FORMER NBA PLAYER Sebastian Telfair, an Abraham Lincoln High School standout , is pleading for a last-minute pardon from President Trump to avoid a six-month prison sentence, the Daily News reported Monday. Telfair, drafted by the Portland Trailblazers in 2004, faces jail time for allegedly violating a plea deal in a $4 million healthcare fraud case, citing a “paperwork” error that kept him from fulfilling community service.

“Trump, go check in on my story and you’re definitely going to want to pardon me ,” he told TMZ.

The retired guard, who played for multiple teams including the Nets, has a history of legal issues and blames the penalty’s unfairness.
