DOWNTOWN — Judge Aaron D. Maslow’s eyes dart toward the jury box as he prepares to address the individuals seated there. The courtroom is filled with attorneys yearning to present their argument. The jury box is filled as well — but not with jurors.
Instead, seven judicial interns occupy half the seats, sitting quietly and taking notes from their front-row view of courtroom proceedings in the Individual Assignment System, Part 2 of the Civil Term of the Supreme Court, Kings County.
The interns spending their summer in Judge Maslow’s chambers are Gabriella Schifano, Bhargav Nannapaneni, Matthew Seigel, Jot Sahi, Christine Mann, Sam Allenson and Gabriella Lucas. Except for Sam Allenson, a rising sophomore at New York University, each intern has completed their first year of law school. Ni
